Hyderabad: If you think you missed a heartbeat, no surprise. The event was intended to tug at your heart. The evening was loaded with fun, frolic and music. And all for a good cause. Children with heart ailments had a hearty laugh, what with everyone out to delight them.
Good response
The `Heart 2 Heart' carnival was organised by the Save a Child's Heart Foundation (SACH) at Sanjeeviah Park here on Saturday in aid of children suffering from heart diseases from economically deprived sections. The programme evoked good response with children from different schools such as Sujata Public School, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Jain International, Oakridge, HPS, DRS taking part and doing their bit for the less fortunate kids. While foot-tapping music and games held the children spellbound, Hyderabad's heartthrob Sania Mirza conquered their hearts. She was given a rousing welcome as she arrived with her father to spend time with the children. Star-struck children mobbed her with requests for autographs and the teen sensation obliged them. In her brief speech, Sania complimented the students for supporting a good cause. She appreciated the SACH bands worn by them and said that besides raising funds for treatment of children with cardiac problems, they were also a fashion statement.
Star attraction
Tollywood stars Shreya and Tarun wished a hearty Children Day's to the kids in advance. HUDA chairman D. Sudheer Reddy presented a cheque of Rs. 1 crore to the SACH Foundation to sponsor children with heart ailments within the HUDA jurisdiction. The Hyderabad 10 K Run Foundation contributed Rs. 1.5 lakhs and the Radha Realty Corporation Rs. 10 lakhs. A variety of activities like Art in Heart contest, How to be Heart Smart, poster/slogan contest, songs of heart, close to my heart painting contest were organised on the occasion and prizes were given away to the winners.
