Named district government pleader

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A.Rajasenan has been appointed as the district government pleader and Public Prosecutor for a period of three years by the State Government. Mr. Rajasenan had served as additional government pleader and district government pleader during the period from 1988-92. He will take over from S.K. Ashok Kumar.

Animation workshop

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Keltron Animation Campus is conducting a drawing competition and animation workshop for children in connection with Children's Day. The programme will be conducted on November 14 and 15 for the age group of 5 to 15 and 16 to 22 respectively. All interested students can participate and win prizes. Selected candidates will receive scholarships too. The programme will be conducted at the Keltron <109,94>animation campus in the city and Calicut centres. Painting competition

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Rajiv Gandhi Combined Cycle Power Project, Kayamkulam of the NTPC is conducting a painting competition on the themes `Save Electricity, Save Money' or `Use But Don't Misuse Electricity' for the children of class IV and V, who have qualified in the state level competition held earlier, at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium auditorium here at 10 a.m. on November 14. As many as 13,047 students from 585 schools from all over the State had participated in the State-level painting competition. Out of them, 50 children selected from different schools across the State will participate in the competition on Children's' Day. Minister for Electricity A. K. Balan will be the Chief Guest at the prize distribution ceremony to be held on the same day and same venue at 3.00 p.m. The first and second prize winners will be invited to participate in the national-level painting competition scheduled to be held at New Delhi on December 12.

Congress plans march

Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress has asked the State Government to complete the capital roads development scheme initiated during the time of the previous UDF Government. The party would carry out a "padayatra" for pressing its demand. In a press release here, general secretary G.S. Babu urged the Government to expedite the work on the fly over at Bakery junction.
