BANGALORE: A man stabbed to death a 30-year-old woman, with whom he reportedly had an affair, suspecting her loyalty to him. The incident took place in Sampangiramnagar on Saturday. The police gave the name of the victim as Sunitha, a resident of 16th Cross, 4th Main, Samapangiramnagar. According to the police, Sunitha had an affair with Venkatesh, one of her neighbours. Both of them worked in a bakery at Shanthinagar. Of late, Venkatesh had been quarrelling with Sunitha, accusing her of being disloyal to him. Around 7.30 a.m. when Sunitha had come out to buy milk and vegetables, Venkatesh waylaid her and stabbed her in the chest and abdomen with a screwdriver. Passers-by rushed her to a hospital and doctors declared her brought dead, the police said. The Sampangiramnagar police have registered a case and are on the lookout for Venkatesh.
Youth murdered
Raghavendra Shetty (21), an employee of a condiments shop in Rajajinagar, was found murdered at the shop on Saturday. The police said the assailant had strangled Raghavendra and made away with Rs. 700 in cash from the shop. The police suspect that Raghavendra's colleague Deepu, who is absconding, could have murdered him. Raghavendra, a native of Kodgi village in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district, was working at Sri Manjunatha Condiments in 2nd Block Rajajinagar, for the past two months. He used to stay at the shop during the night. Deepu, who joined work four days ago, also slept at the shop in the night A milkman came to the shop around 7.30 a.m. to deliver milk sachets. When he knocked on the shutters, there was no response. He immediately informed the proprietor of the shop S.K. Shetty. When S.K Shetty came to the shop and opened the shutters, he found Raghavendra lying dead with his hand and legs tied with a rope. The victim had been gagged, the police said. The Rajajinagar police have registered a case and are on the lookout for Deepu.
Realtor found dead
The body of a city-based realtor, who had gone missing from Friday, was found in a tank in Magadi police station limits in Bangalore Rural district on Saturday. The police said Nagaraju (35), a resident of J.C. Nagar in Mahalakshmipuram, left his house on Friday morning. He told his family members that he would return in the evening after visiting a temple at Kenchapura in Magadi taluk. When he did not return, his father Thimmaiah lodged a complaint with the Magadi police on Friday night. On Saturday morning, the police found Nagaraju's motorcycle and clothes on the Chikkahoovarasikere tank bund on Bangalore-Magadi Road. The Fire Force personnel searched the tank and removed Nagaraju's body from it. Thimmaiah has complained that a gold bracelet, a chain and a ring Nagaraju was wearing were missing. He suspects that some one robbed Nagaraju of the jewellery and murdered him. The Magadi police have registered a case.
