ALAPPUZHA: Two Keralites , who managed to escape from Iraqi rebels who abducted them while transporting equipment from Kuwait to a US Army camp in Iraq, have been arrested by the Iraqi police for illegally entering there without proper documents, there relatives here have informed. The relatives of M.K. Ashraf, a native of Kakkazham in the district who is among the two Keralite drivers arrested in Iraq said the US company in which Mr. Ashraf was working had not taken any step to get Mr. Ashraf released. Mr. Ashraf is working in Public Warehousing Company, Kuwait, which manages logistics for U.S. Army in Iraq. Abdul Jabbar, brother of Mr. Ashraf said he was deeply shaken by the incidentand had not informed the wife or children of Mr. Ashraf about it. He said he had approached the Minister for cooperation G. Sudhakaran and Union Minister Vayalar Ravi for taking Government level action for his release. Mr. Jabbar said he came to know about the arrest following a telephone call by Mr. Ashraf to Iqbal, another brother of Mr. Ashraf who is working in Kuwait.
