Minister's plea on schemes

Pattambi (Palakkad): Considering the socio-economic conditions in Kerala, the State must be given the freedom to make required changes in Centrally sponsored schemes, Minister for Local Self Governance Paloli Mohammad Kutty said here on Sunday.

Inaugurating the Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign, he said the State was not able to ``reap the fruits'' of many central schemes because they were mainly ``designed for north Indian States.'' — PTI
