APSRTC to launch online booking facilities

CHENNAI: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation proposes to launch online ticket booking facilities at prominent points in Chennai such as T. Nagar, Parry's Corner, Egmore and Central.

This is to enable APSRTC passengers from Chennai to reserve tickets 30 days in advance for its services to Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Tirumala, Tirupati, Vishakapatnam, Bangalore, Puttaparthy, Srisailam, Annavaram and Nellore. APSRTC executive director U. Sudhakara Rao told The Hindu that depending on the demand, online booking facilities could be launched in other places in Chennai too.The groundwork for the four proposed facilities in the city has begun and they were likely to become operational by the year-end. In a release, he said APSRTC operated special services for marriage parties and group passengers from Chennai to Tirumala and Tirupati. Details about the services could be obtained from Assistant Traffic Manager in Chennai through 94441-60990 or 24792233.
