ITF tournament from today

PUNE: A clutch of Indian players led by Sanaa Bhambri, Meghha Vakaria, Ankita Bhambri, Isha Lakhani and Rushmi Chakravarthi will be out to prove their worth in the $25,000 ITF women's tournament to be played at the Poona Club here from Monday.

The seedings: 1. Akgul Amanmuradova (Uzb), 2. Montinee Tangphong (Tha), 3. Agnes Szatmari (Rom), 4. Olga Panova (Rus), 5. Ankita Bhambri, 6. Isha Lakhani, 7. Rushmi Chakravarthi, 8. Amina Rakhim (Kaz).

The results (second and final qualifying round): Elizaveta Tochilovskay (Rus) bt Sagarika Phadke 6-1, 6-0; Asha Nandakumar bt Kelsey Sundaram (US) 7-5, 7-5; Madhura Ranganathan bt Martina Caciotti (Ita) 4-6, 7-6(8), 6-2; Ashmitha Easwaramurthi bt Liza Pereira 6-4, 6-1; Vishika Chhetri bt Radhika Tulpule 6-3, 6-4; Parija Maloo bt Chirashanthi Rajur 6-1, 6-2; Sweta Kumari Solanki bt Sandri Gangothri 6-2, 6-4; Poojashree Venkatesh bt Abby Hedges (Aus) 6-2, 6-3.
