Melbourne: Australian speedster Brett Lee has dubbed the coming Ashes series as the most important challenge of his career as he attempts to rectify a dismal Test record against England. Lee admitted he needed to conquer an opponent that has taken his bowling apart over the past five years. Asked if this series represented the biggest test of his seven-year international career, Lee said, "Yeah, I think it is. I rate the Ashes up with a World Cup final. "Any person who's had the chance to play a series for Australia knows it's special, but this is a huge challenge for me. Bring it on," he told Herald Sun. "Compared to other opponents, my record (against England) is not as good and I know for Australia to regain the Ashes, I need to make sure I take wickets and get some runs," Lee said. "The main thing is I've improved with each Ashes series. The first time I took nine wickets, last year I got 20 and I want to improve on that this time. "I enjoyed being the spearhead the past Australian summer. I've enjoyed that extra responsibility and I want to make a big impact in this series and in this Australian side. "I feel the past couple of seasons have been the best since I've started," he said PTI
