`Law and order has collapsed'

Staff Correspondent

HASSAN: A. Manju, who took over as the Congress district unit president on Sunday at a convention organised on the Exhibition Grounds here, alleged that law and order in the district had collapsed. There were 16 murders in six months. He said people were facing problems owing to the unilateral decisions taken by district in-charge Minister H.D. Revanna. He alleged that despite the district administration suggesting compensation for those who died in the hooch tragedy at Tubinakere the Government was politicising the issue.

He accused Mr. Revanna of deceiving farmers by making them remit the crop insurance premium even after expiry of the deadline.
