VIJAYAWADA: C.V. Rao Team from Visakhapatnam (C.V. Rao, Srinivas, Srinivasa Reddy, Viswanath, Iyengar) won the duplicate event with 61 VPs in the 33rd AP State bridge championship, which concluded here on Sunday. Welmek (Hyderabad) and Faria (Hyderabad) finished joint second with 44 VP. Welmek took second place on progressive scores. In board-a-match event, Galaxy of Hyderabad won the honours with 116 points, while Sriharikota's SDST and Fateh Maidan Club, Hyderabad, finished second and third respectively. In the pairs' event, N. Viswanath and G.S.C. Vidyasagar won the title.
Varsity cricket trials
Trials to select the Acharya Nagarjuna University men's cricket team will be held at RVR & JC College of Engineering at Chodavaram (Guntur) on November 14. Cynergy adopts Mohineesh
Cynergy Per4mers Inc, a sports promotion company, which launched its India operations here, has adopted the world u-8 chess champion Mohineesh from Visakhapatnam, taking care of his financial aspects on the domestic circuit. "We will also look into sponsoring his overseas tours soon. Mohineesh will also be given a laptop with all the necessary chess software," said Girish Varadharajan, director, India operations, of the company.
