Golden treble for Shubham

NALGONDA: It was a golden treble for Shubham Sharma in the Andhra Pradesh State table tennis tournament that concluded at the District Sports Authority indoor stadium here on Sunday.

Sharma won the men's, youth and junior boys' singles crowns.

Shubham's triumph in the men's singles follows in the footsteps of Arjuna Awardee Mir Kasim Ali, who claimed that crown about 30 years ago while still a junior. Ali went on to win the National senior title as well shortly after and one hopes Shubham replicates that feat as well.

Chief guest K. Vijayanand, Collector and District Magistrate, gave away the prizes.
