Ivy League Academy enters semifinals

HYDERABAD: Ivy League Academy entered the semifinals of the third annual V. Purushotham Memorial Trophy inter-school hockey tournament defeating Kendriya Vidyalaya (Trimulgherry) 2-0 here on Sunday. Sharan Dev and Shaikh Ali were the scorers.

In another match, Vijaya HS (Kapra) recorded a 2-1 win over Dr. Zaheer Memorial HS.

Zaheer school shot into the lead in the second minute through Mohan. But, Vijaya HS levelled the scores with Abhinav Reddy finding the target in the 31st minute.

Vijaya HS scored the match-winner in the 43rd minute through Malik Mohd Jamal. .

The semifinal line-up for Monday: Ivy League Academy vs Mamatha HS; Vijaya HS vs Moulana Azad HS.

ITRC in last four

Income Tax Recreation Club defeated MCH Amberpet 4-2 in the quarterfinals of the MCH open hockey tournament at Begumpet Police Stadium.

Ilyas' brace and fine solo efforts by Krishna and Surender helped ITRC emerge winner, while Kulal and Vishwanath reduced the margin.

Easy for The Hindu

The Hindu scored a nine-wicket win against Deloitte in the Concern India Trophy corporate cricket tournament.

The scores (quarterfinals): ICICI 151 for six (Aashish 52) bt C3i 135 (Ramnath 46).

Deloitte 103 for eight lost to The Hindu 104 for one (Faiz Ahmed 60 n.o.).

SBH 154 for six (Daniel Manohar 58) lost to Satyam 155 for four (Raghu 74, Suresh 44).

Srikanth scalps six

Good Srikanth's six for 22 helped Vijayanagar defeat MP Youngmen by 54 runs in the Schools league championship.

The scores: Schools league: St. Patrick's 151 (Noor 47 n.o., Shivshanth four for 30, S. Chandan four for 25) bt ICC 120 (Vinod 43, Noor four for 36).

Vijaynagar 154 (Tarun 50, Srinath 35, Mahir V. Vazir four for 44) bt MP Youngmen 100 (R. Srinath 33, Srikanth six for 22, Abhinay three for 25).

Sayi Sathya 260 for nine (K. Akshat Kumar 83, G.H. Vihari 45, B. Anirudh 41, Vasanth five for 54) bt Hyd Cricket Academy 95 (G.H. Vihari four for nine, D. Sresht four for 19).

A-institution league: APSEB 83 (Shaikh Dadar five for 31, Mohd. Imran five for 17) lost to Hyd Bottling 84 for one (Saad Khaled bin Mahfooz 52).

B-division league: Lal Bahadur 209 (Md. Shafiullah 55, Chakravarthy 44, Jitender Shah five for 60) bt Mahaveer 143 (Sridhar 51, Rahul Reddy five for 38, Md. Shafiullah four for 40).

C-division league: Raju's 445 (V. Anurag Reddy 169, A. Shiva Harish 86, M. Pradeep 50, Mahesh four for 72, Nagendra four for 114) bt Gunrock 117 (Ravi Kiran 45, M. Pradeep four for 15).

D-division league: Lucky XI 85 lost to Royal 86 for six.
