NEW DELHI: Baba Hardev Singh on Sunday praised the volunteers attending the 59th Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam for their spirit of devotion to serve the society, which sets an example for the others. On Sunday, the Samagam began with a rally by a large number of women and men volunteers. The volunteers presented cultural programme highlighting the themes of peaceful co-existence, harmony and universal brotherhood with special reference to selfless service to the mankind. After inaugurating the three-day Samagam, Baba Hardev Singh had on Saturday said true religion unites the mankind as it teaches love and compassion. He said the man's true religion is humanity and that all saints and prophets in the past had preaches love and tolerance only. Baba Hardev Singh said being the children of one Supreme Father the mankind inherits its fundamental unit. He said true devotion does not require scholars but those who adopt the words of wisdom in their conduct. Baba Hardev Singh observed that these days, the media reported mostly violence in the name of religion. He said every one calling himself a truly religious person should do some introspection and weigh his or her actions. Baba Hardev Singh said human unity was a key to world peace and whatever is done by individuals, groups or nations, should be relevant to the aspiration of the entire mankind. Earlier, Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur pointed out that today men were fighting against each other, just like bamboos catch fire due to friction.
