Sammelan ends

NEW DELHI: A three-day Sadbhawna Sammelan concluded at Ram Lila grounds here with a call for national unity and integrity, respect for all religions and establishment of world peace.

According to a Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti release, spiritual leader Satpal Maharaj presided over the function. Well-known singer Kailash Kher and party performed a musical programme full of bhajans and sufi presentation.

Coal Congress

NEW DELHI: A number of mining experts, engineers and environmentalists will participate in the three-day "International Coal Congress and Expo 2006" beginning in the Capital from December 11.

Major highlight of the event will be display of latest technologies in the field of coal mining by the industry. Experts will be discussing ways and means to increase the production of coal and making it an affordable reliable energy source.

Health show

NEW DELHI: Sri Balaji Action Medical Institute on Sunday organised the "Health and Talent Show" competition in the Capital.

The competition saw the participation of a large number of children between the age group of seven and 12 years from various parts of the city. The children took part in singing, dancing, solo act, musical instrument play and photogenic contest.

Over all 24 participants, six from each category were selected for various items. The winners will be given prizes on November 14.

Cycle race

NEW DELHI: The first-of-its-kind cycle race organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Capital attracted participants from all walks of life.

The Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit flagged off the face. Well-known Hollywood actor Anil Kapoor was also present on the occasion.

A contingent of 40 physically challenged people participated in the cycle race to focus attention of the need for special infrastructure for the handicapped and also for special cycle tracks in a clean and green Delhi.

Safety workshop

NEW DELHI: A national workshop on safety in the Capital organised by National Federation of Indian Railwaymen (NFIR) in collaboration with International Transport Workers' Federation concluded in the Capital on Thursday.

Nineteen participants from 16 zonal railways and production units belonging to various safety categories presented their papers in the workshop.
