Army deployed

DHAKA: The caretaker Government in Bangladesh has deployed the Army to tackle the situation following the nation-wide blockade being enforced by the 14-party combine.

The TV channels reporting the news on Sunday night said the Government's decision was communicated by the Home Ministry and the Cabinet division to all deputy commissioners, asking them to make necessary preparations. The order reportedly asked them to arrange the required number of magistrates to perform their duties.
