Health quiz for engineering students

Chennai : The Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre in co-ordination with NSS cell, Anna University, will be conducting a quiz programme on `Healthy Youth for Healthy India', for first year Engineering students. It will be held at Periyar Science and Technology Centre on November 25, 10.30 a.m. No registration fee. Register at tnstc@md5.vsnl.net.in by November 23.

Medical camp

Hindu Mission Hospital in association with the Rotary Club of Madras conducted a health camp at Ekattur, Siruseri, where 295 patients were treated.

Eye screening

Sankara Eye Hospital, Pammal in association conducted a free screening eye camp at Government Higher Secondary School, Kanakamma Chathiram in Tiruvallur district on Sunday. 71 patients were referred for cataract surgery out of 180 who attended the camp. Those will be operated at the base hospital on Monday and they will be dropped at their respective villages on Tuesday. Free medicines were distributed. The camp was sponsored by J.P. Kothari.

Children's Day

Lions Club of Chennai Harrington Avenue and TAMBRAS of Kulathur unit celebrated Children's Day at Everwin Matriculation School. Children participated in shloka recitals, oratorical competitions on national leaders and other events.

New branch opened

Dr Agarwal's Eye Hospital launched its Periyar Nagar (Perambur) branch. It was inaugurated by actor Vivek.

Lecture

St Peter's Engineering College conducted a lecture on `Mobile Devices and Student Learning'. Professor Brendan from the University of Wolverhampton, UK, was the guest speaker.
