Fake currency seized at Central Station

CHENNAI : The Railway police seized fake currency in the denomination of 500 rupees from the Central railway station here on Sunday.

Police said a wooden box was found lying unclaimed near the passenger lounge. Immediately, the bomb squad was alerted. With experts ruling out explosives, police broke open the box and recovered 28 Rs. 500 notes. A case has been registered, and the wooden box with the fake currency has been handed over to the railway platform inspector. Further investigation is on.
