Thiruvananthapuram: The police have arrested a 40-year-old man involved in several cases in different police stations in the city from Vazhamuttom Junction. According to G. Binu, Sub-Inspector, Thiruvallom police station, the accused Vikraman alias Pacha Vikraman was arrested while moving under suspicious circumstances on Kovalam-Inchivila NH 47 bypass on Sunday. Vikraman, a resident of Attirambathuveedu, Chaka, is alleged to be involved in 13 cases, including theft, registered in Pettah police station alone. He was produced before the court and remanded to custody.
Shops attacked
Two persons were injured when their shops were allegedly attacked by a group of persons at Pallimukku, near Peyad, under Villapilsala police station limits on Sunday afternoon. The injured were identified as Rajendran, 55, and his brother Gajendran, 48, Hospital sources said. Rajendran, who was injured in the eye, was shifted to Regional Ophthalmic Centre. Gajendran was under observation in the casualty wing of Medical College Hospital. A march was taken out later in the evening to protest against the attack. The Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi has called for a hartal in the locality on Monday.
