Kochi: The Human Rights Law Network (HRLN) has urged the Government and non-governmental organisations to give effective publicity to the domestic violence Act. To prevent widespread atrocities against women, the network has demanded an immediate and effective campaign by governmental and non-governmental organisations. National director of HRLN Sandhya Raju urged the Government to accept the demand of various women organisations. She was addressing a legal aid camp organised by the YWCA, the network, the Indian Federation of Women Lawyers and Sthree Vedi. The camp was inaugurated by District and Sessions Judge V. Sarathchandran. YWCA president Ammini Samuel presided over the meeting. The speakers highlighted the importance of domestic violence Act and its implementation. Rashmi Ramesh, advocate, took classes on the law against domestic violence.
