Unit for melting coins unearthed
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West Delhi) Manish Kumar Agarwal said the Samaipur Badli police received a tip-off that some persons were melting coins and converting them into metal slabs to sell them at higher rates. Subsequently, a police team raided the unit and arrested all the accused.
Man booked
On Saturday, the police received a complaint from one Pawan Verma, a resident of Uttam Nagar in West Delhi, alleging that a person had cheated him of Rs. 500 on the pretext of arranging a job for him at the trade fair that begins from November 14. The accused, Jasbir Singh, had got an advertisement published in a newspaper offering jobs at the trade fair. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Delhi) Ajay Chaudhary said after the complainant saw the advertisement, he and his wife Manjeet Verma met Jasbir at his Laxmi Nagar office in East Delhi. Jasbir took their interview and then claimed that they had been selected for the jobs. He charged Rs. 500 per person for his service and asked the two to collect their identity cards on November 10. But, when they went there to receive the identity cards that day, they were shocked to find that the office had been vacated.
Two arrested
A team led by Inspector Rajpal Dabas arrested the two accused, Tarun Kumar and Vicky Shaharyar, when they were riding the stolen motorcycle.
