Deviations: BMP drive continues

BANGALORE: Continuing its drive against building deviations and illegal use of basements, the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) on Sunday cleared four commercial establishments that were running in the basements of buildings in Jayanagar 3rd block.

The South Zone BMP staff assisted by members of the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) and the local police evicted the occupants of commercial establishments on site nos.: 232/19 and 229 on the 9th main in Jayanagar 3rd block and 383/72 and 382/71 on 11th main in Jayanagar 3rd block. Following this operation, the BMP has created space for parking over 60 cars in the basements, its officials said.
