Salem: Salem boys and Erode girls entered the final of the sub-junior (under-16) inter-district volleyball championships at the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium courts here on Monday. In the semifinals, Salem ousted Thiruvarur 14-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-22 and Erode scored a 25-17, 25-22, 25-14 win over Chennai. The results: Boys (semifinals): Salem bt Thiruvarur 14-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-22. Quarterfinals: Thiruvarur bt Kancheepuram 25-21, 27-25; Salem bt Coimbatore 25-18, 25-20; Virudhunagar bt Dindigul 15-25, 25-23, 25-23; Tiruchi bt Erode 28-26, 25-18. Girls (semifinals): Erode bt Chennai 25-17, 25-22, 25-14.
