LONDON: Rare goals by French midfielder Mathieu Flamini and Ivorian defender Kolo Toure set Arsenal on its way to an emphatic 3-0 win over Liverpool and third place in the English Premier League football championship on Sunday. Flamini's second league goal, since joining Arsenal more than two years ago, came just before halftime, when he slid the ball home at the end of a neat passing move at the Emirates Stadium. Toure added the second in the 56th minute after leading a counter-attack and fellow central defender William Gallas completed the list of unlikely scorers when he was left unmarked for an 80th minute header. Even so, it is still 10 points behind leader Manchester United, who has 31, and is seven points adrift of champion Chelsea.
Barca beats Zaragoza
Ronaldinho scored two goals and Javier Saviola added another to help FC Barcelona beat Zaragoza 3-1 and move back into first place in the Spanish League in Madrid. Ronaldinho equalised with his first goal in the 31st minute, scoring with a downward header from Deco's corner. Ronaldinho put Barcelona ahead in the 86th minute with a trademark free kick from the edge of the penalty area his eighth goal of the season. Six minutes into injury time, Ronaldinho hit the crossbar with another free kick and Saviola headed the rebound over the line for Barcelona's third goal. Gabriel Milito gave Zaragoza the lead in the 17th minute at Camp Nou when he ran in unchallenged to sidefoot home from Andres D'Alessandro's corner.
