VIJAYAWADA: City swimmer G. Vijayasree Gupta set the pool ablaze in the third Masters aquatics championship, which concluded at Thiruvananthapuram on November 12, winning three golds and a silver. She finished first in the 400m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 100m backstroke and second in the 50m butterfly. The event was organised by the Swimming Federation of India.
Parthasarathy in

City shooter K. Parthasarathy Naidu has qualified to represent Andhra Pradesh in the peepsight air rifle event in the National shooting championship to be held at Indore (MP) from December 14 to 22.
Incidentally, Parthasarathy, garnered 365 points in the junior section of the 16th Malwankar championship.
The South Zone inter-university volleyball tournament for women, scheduled to be held in Kottayam (Kerala) in the last week of November has been postponed to January 2007, according to Dr. Innaiah Choudary, Physical Director, Dr. Pinnamaneni Siddhartha Institute Of Medical Sciences & Research Foundation, Chinoutpalli.
