The scores: Inter-schools u-13 tournament: St. Andrew's `A' 401 for four (G.H. Vihari 226 not out, Anirudh 40, Rohit Rajender 47) bt Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan 70 (C.V. Milind five for 35, Raghu Ram three for six). HPS (Ramanthpur) 117 (V.V. Nandu four for 14, Ronith three for two) lost to Gowtham Model School 120 for two (R. Arun Deva 57 not out). Neeraj PS 136 (B.R. Pavan Kumar 66, Anurag three for seven, Tanmay three for 16, Tanmay three for 16) bt All Saints 131(B. Karunesh Reddy three for 10). Moulana Azad in final
Mamatha High School will take on Moulana Azad High School in the final of the third annual V. Purushotham memorial inter-schools hockey tournament at the Gymkhana grounds on Tuesday. In the first semifinal, Mamatha got a walkover from Ivy League Academy. Later, Moulana Azad edged out a fighting Vijaya High School 8-7, via sudden-death. Abhinav Reddy scored a brace and Manipal Reddy once for Vijaya. However, Moulana Azad levelled through Rajender Kumar, Mohd. Bin Anwar and Mohd. Bin Salam. In the tie-breaker, the teams were locked 4-4. In sudden-death, Manipal Reddy's effort was blocked by Moulana Azad goalkeeper Shaikh Moiz while Mohd. Abdul Qurram clinched the issue for his team.
Big win for Megasoft
Megasoft scored a seven-wicket win over Times Group in the second JDA Corporate Olympiad cricket tournament here. The scores: Times Group 121 for five lost to Megasoft 122 for three (Sunil 48). Manugistics 151 for seven (Ramakant 53) lost to Deloitte Haskin & Sells 152 for four (Nikshit 56 not out).
Prasanna scores winner
The Sports Authority of India (STC, Secunderabad) scored a solitary goal win over South Central Railway in the final of the MCH Open hockey tournament at the Begumpet Police Stadium here. Striker Prasanna scored the match-winner.
Terrific trio
Three veteran athletes from Hyderabad Rajesh Kumar, Vikash Karar and M. Babu Rao have been selected to represent India in the Asian Masters athletics meet in Bangalore from November 14 to 18.
VCE spikers for camp
Six spikers from the SAAP Volleyball Centre of Excellence G. Mahender Kumar, G. Kumar, V. Sai Mahesh, K. Chandrasekhar Raju, T. Naresh Kumar and M. Sri Kapil have been selected for the Indian youth coaching camp. The camp is being held ahead of the Asian Youth championship in Dubai next April.
