ALAPPUZHA: A three-member team of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) will visit St.Aloysius' College, Edathua, in Kuttanad on Tuesday and Wednesday to acquaint themselves with the strengths of the institution and analyse the mechanism for quality improvement. The team is headed by B.G. Mulimani, Vice-Chancellor of Gulbarga University. Other team members are: A. Francis, Principal V.O. Chidambaram College, Tuticorin, and Mamata Satapathy, member coordinator from Bhubaneshwar.
Only centre in Kuttanad
The college is the only centre of higher education in Kuttanad. It started functioning in 1965 and is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University. A release said the college was a first grade college offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The department of commerce offered facility for research leading to award of Ph.D.
