MYSORE: The Builders' Association of India (BAI) will be organising "Mybuild-06", a national-level construction exhibition in Mysore from December 7. Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, chairman of the Organising Committee Ajit Narayan said the five-day exhibition was the sixth edition of the "Mybuild" series of exhibition and would be showcasing the entire range of building materials, equipments, finishes and interiors. He said over 40,000 visitors were expected to visit the exhibition that would feature 150 stalls. The exhibition would be an ideal opportunity for people to view the latest products and technologies in the field as several prominent companies from across the country would be taking part in the event, he added. As a part of the exhibition, Mr. Narayan said, the BAI Mysore Centre would be organising an international seminar on high-rise structures called "Buildtech". This three-day seminar would be inaugurated on December 8 and would be held at B.N. Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences. The seminar is the first international seminar on any construction-related topic to be held in Mysore, he added. Delving on the seminar topic, he said most successful urban developments in the world had extensively used high-rise structures to transform cityscapes. Even in Mysore owing to the unprecedented development, high-rise structures seem to be the only option to solve the housing needs of the growing population, he added. Mr. Narayan said, "Several top construction professionals from across the country are slated to attend the event. Besides a distinguished panel of speakers from India and abroad will be presenting their papers during the seminar."
