NEW DELHI: Satguru Swami Shanti Parkashji Maharaj birth centenary celebrations will be held from November 14 to 18 at Prem Parkash Dham in Malka Ganj here. Followers of Prem Parkash Mandal from all over the country and abroad are expected to attend the celebrations to be presided over by Swami Jai Parkash Maharaj.

On Tuesday, a "shobha yatra" will be taken out from Prem Parkash Dham-Hans Raj College, passing through Malka Ganj, Prachin Jhule Lal Mandir, Indira Market, Sabzi Mandi Ghanta Ghar and Kolhpur Road before returning to Malka Ganj.

`Man living in bondage created by self'

NEW DELHI: Humanity is being divided in the name of religion, caste, creed and colour and there is hatred among people because of the different names they use for God, said Sant Nirankari Mission head Baba Hardev Singh addressing the open session of the 59th annual Nirankari Sant Samagam on Monday.

"Man is practically living in bondage created by himself. This is nothing but his ignorance. He stumbles and fumbles because he lives in darkness,'' he observed addressing the vast gathering on the third and final day of the congregation.

Foundation stone laid

NEW DELHI: Congress MLA Tajdar Babar on Monday laid the foundation stone for a community hall in Nizamuddin Basti here. The hall is being constructed by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi at a cost of Rs.73 lakhs. Union Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken and Delhi Mayor Farhad Suri were among those present on the occasion.

Mr. Suri said the community hall was being constructed over 700 square metres. Ms. Babar has given Rs.50 lakhs for the project from her constituency development fund, he added.

Joshi to open Bal Diwas function

NEW DELHI: Lieutenant Governor B. L. Joshi will be the chief guest at the Bal Diwas function being organised by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Tuesday to commemorate the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru.

More than 5,000 children from municipal primary schools will present folk dances, mass drills, aerobatics, yoga and physical exercises.

Traders' march

NEW DELHI: Accompanied by a large number of traders, senior BJP leader Vijay Goel on Monday took out a march protesting against the shifting of historic markets from Sadar Bazar in Old Delhi area. The march was organised by the Federation of Sadar Bazar Traders.
