Mirzapur (U.P.): The RSS has claimed that Mayawati's recent remarks terming Muslims as "fundamentalists" were a result of the BSP's frustration over its failure to `trap' the community. "Earlier she had been spewing venom against Hindu gods and goddesses to please the Muslims, but when they (Muslims) did not fall in her trap she termed them as fundamentalists," senior RSS leader and former spokesperson Ram Madhav said at a Hindu Sammelan here last night. He also criticised the Mulayam Singh Government in the State for its `patronage' of the banned Students Islamic Organisation of India. "SIMI is a terrorist outfit whose members were directly involved in Varanasi, Mumbai and Delhi blasts and had been working as agents of (Pakistan's) ISI. SIMI is also actively involved in disruptive activities in Kashmir," he said. -- PTI
