Protest by PMK activists

Staff Reporter

Following rumour that equipment was to be shifted to Bellary

Dharmapuri: Around 300 activists of the Pattali Makkal Katchi assembled in front of the All India Radio FM station at Adhiyamankottai near here on Monday, following a rumour that the equipment was to be shifted to Bellary in Karnataka.

PMK cadres led by Dharmapuri MP R. Senthil tried to lock the station gates. They withdrew their protest following the intervention of police and Revenue officials.

Senior officials of the Doordarshan centre at Dharmapuri, who were on the campus, assured the demonstrators that it was only a rumour.
