Call to protect elephant corridor

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: The elephant corridor was being encroached upon by human race, and this should be checked at the earliest. Or else, the elephants would start entering human habitat, said K. Kalidasan, president, `Osai', a voluntary organisation for the conservation of the Western Ghats.

He was addressing a students training programme on `Humane Education', conducted jointly by Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School, Adyar, and the Karuna Club.

Mr. Kalidasan urged the student community to raise their voice against any kind of destruction to biodiversity.

Animal activist Yagna Prabha presented a programme on the activities of her shelter for more than 120 dogs at Palathur.

Dulichand Jain, President, Karuna International, inaugurated the training programme.

The training programme was attended by more than 100 students from various schools in and around Chennai.
