Kidnapped boy rescued

BANGALORE: The Hennur Police, along with the Andhra Pradesh Police, have rescued a boy who was kidnapped for ransom on Sunday.

According to the police, Hamsakeerti (12), son of Manjunath, and resident of Horamavu, was kidnapped by Sambashiva on Saturday. Sambashiva had approached Manjunath, an agriculturist, seeking a house on rent. Manjunath had sent his son along to show him the house.

On Sunday evening, Manjunath got a call from Sambashiva demanding a ransom of Rs. 10 lakh. The police traced the call to Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh.

The Hennur Police, along with the Andhra Pradesh Police, raided a farm house where the boy was detained and rescued him on Monday.
