Burglars decamp with cash, jewellery

The same gang could have burgled the three flats, say police

BANGALORE: Burglars struck at three flats in the Kasturidhama Apartment complex in Malleswaram Police Station limits and made away with gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs. 5.5 lakh and Rs. 50,000.

The police said that on Saturday night, thieves had entered the three flats in the complex situated on 8th Main, 9th Cross, by breaking open the main door.

They looted Rs. 50,000 in cash and gold and diamond ornaments worth Rs. 4.6 lakh from Manika Bai's flat on the second floor. She had gone to a relative's house in Fraser Town.

They also decamped with gold jewellery worth Rs. 1 lakh from M.N. Usha's flat on the fourth floor, and valuables from Gopalakrishna's flat on the second floor, the police said. The Malleswaram Police, who have registered separate cases, said the same gang could have burgled the three flats.

House burgled

Thieves broke into Murali Subramani's house in Ramamurthynagar Police Station limits and made away with gold ornaments.

The theft took place at the house in Sir M.V. Nagar, Horamavu. Mr. Subramani and his family members were away since Saturday morning.

The incident had come to light after Mr. Subramani returned on Sunday, the police said. The Ramamurthynagar Police have registered a case.
