Krishna Iyer turns 92 today

Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer on November 15 completes 91 years of creative achievements and incomparable contributions to law and public life. His life has been a rich tapestry of many-splendoured roles as a lawyer, legislator, Minister in Kerala Government, High Court judge, member of the Law Commission, Supreme Court judge and universally admired champion of the causes of freedom, equality and the uplift of the downtrodden. For many decades, he has been the conscience keeper of the country and the voice of the common people.

Sadly indeed, when he enters his 92nd year, Justice Krishna Iyer is in the Medical Trust Hospital in Kochi, recovering from the fractures suffered due to a fall in his house, and is still active. The birthday celebrations are, therefore, not possible. E.X. Joseph, the secretary of the Krishna Menon Memorial Society, has appealed to all to offer their best wishes and prayers for the long life and good health of this great son of India.
