President to inaugurate CBI meet

NEW DELHI : President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam will inaugurate a two-day conference of the Central Bureau of Investigation and heads of Anti-Corruption Bureaux from 28 States and seven Union Territories here on Thursday.

Aimed at strengthening the anti-corruption mechanism in the country, the conference will discuss the dimensions of corruption and strategies to tackle it. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will deliver the keynote address and give away the President's police medals.

The CBI has been holding biennial conferences of its officers since 1961
