PANAJI: The 11-day International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which will begin on November 23, will have a 24-hour special telecast for 20 days. This will include live coverage of the festival, said sources. New Delhi-based Brilliant Entertainment Networks (P) Ltd., the event management agency that will host IFFI's entertainment programme, will begin the telecast from November 18 and end it on December 7. The telecast will relay IFFI programmes and films, interviews with film personalities and other entertainment features. The company also plans to hold mobile movie screenings to cover 30 villages of the State in 10 days of the festival, apart from beach screenings on the outskirts of the city. Among the festival's programmes are creative activities for children as well as live music concerts, including a Konkani concert, concerts by Boney-M and Sonu Nigam, and a tribute to R.D. Burman by Salaam Bose. The Goa Government is looking to almost double the list of invitees for the inaugural function of the IFFI. As per the new plan, there will be at least 3,000 invitees, as compared to nearly 1,500 last year.
