German Consulate to open more visa centres

CHENNAI: The Consulate General of Germany will open new visa application centres in Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kochi on November 15, a decision aimed at easing the visa application process. It has commissioned VFS (India) Private Limited to operate the visa application centres.

According to a release, with the new arrangement south Indian residents applying for a visa would be able to submit their applications at these centres.

The Chennai centre would be open from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday. The Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kochi centres would be open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Details about all visa requirements and regulations could be obtained from www.vfs-germany.co.in or www.chennai.diplo.de The applicants have the option of either collecting their passports from the centres or have them couriered to their address, the release said.
