ANANTAPUR: Leaders of Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham, affiliated to the Communist Party of India (CPI) on Tuesday urged Collector D. Kadmiel to release water to the tanks linked to PABR right canal and Dharmavaram branch canal. Farmers suffered losses due to scanty rainfall and the resultant failure of crops, they stated in a representation given to the Collector. A delegation comprising K. Ramakrishna, M.V. Ramana, A. Katamaiah and P. Ravindranath said that 10 lakh acres was left uncultivated in kharif this year due to scanty rainfall.
