Puducherry
Special Correspondent
Puducherry: The Deputy Convener of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu units of the Pattali Makkal Katchi, N.G. Panneerselvam, has maintained that by holding fast and agitations to procure financial and administrative powers for the newly elected civic bodies, PMK Parliamentary Party leader M. Ramadoss had not intended to cause embarrassment to the Congress Government here. In a release here on Tuesday disputing the criticisms made recently by the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam legislator Mr. Ohm Sakthi Segar on the observance of fast by Mr. Ramadoss, the PMK deputy convenor said that all his efforts were only to ensure that there was full fledged functioning of the Government. Mr. Ramadoss had not spared any occasion unutilised to pay tributes to the good work done by the Union Territory Government.
Several issues
He had also raised several issues to bring relief to Puducherry on the floor of the House. Mr. Panneerselvam felt that there need not be any off-the-cuff remarks and criticisms by any section of political parties against Mr. Ramadoss. Mr. Ohm Sakthi Segar came out with harsh criticisms recently against the PMK MP stating that by observing fast and writing to the Centre Mr. Ramadoss was posing a virtual challenge to the government here.
