GUNTUR: A Telugu Desam Party leader Gogineni Krishna Prasad of Munipalle village near Ponnur town in Guntur district was allegedly murdered by five persons on Tuesday. According to a police complaint, eyewitnesses said one Kuchipudi Rajkumar along with four others had chased Krishna Prasad who was riding a motorcycle, hit him with lethal arms and fled the scene when people from surrounding fields rushed to the scene. Krishna Prasad was recently elected president of the Water Users' Association. Ponnur Rural Sub-Inspector Police G. Ravi Kumar said special teams had been formed to trace the accused and investigate. Post mortem was conducted at Ponnur and the body handed over to relatives.
