Call to end child labour

HYDERABAD: Labour Minister G. Vinod on Tuesday emphasised the importance of eliminating employment of children. It was necessary for betterment of society, he said, launching an awareness programme on eradication of child labour in factories at HAL organised by the Factories Department. R. Koteswara Rao, Director of Factories, explained the efforts of the department to identify and eliminate child labour. Bhushanam, Director, Insurance Medical Services, and V. Teachers call for stir

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Affiliated College Teachers' Association has called for relay hunger strikes before all aided colleges across the State in the last week of this month to press its demand for withdrawal of G.O. 35 that bans recruitment in aided institutions.

Directive on ragging

HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the A. P. High Court on Monday directed the State Government to initiate proposals to see that private institutions whose managements did not act against students indulging in ragging within a specific time will lose affiliation and recognition.

The Bench was dealing with a case of ragging brought to the notice of the Court. - Legal Correspondent

200 join Congress

HYDERABAD: Over 200 advocates from Karimnagar district, led by Challa Damodar Reddy, convener, TRS Legal Cell on Tuesday joined the Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Y.S. Panel to study delta modernisation

HYDERABAD: The Government has constituted a five-member committee to study all issues relating to modernisation of the Krishna and Godavari deltas as proposed, and submit report with recommendations.
