JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government will shortly establish Consumer Information and Advisory Centres in all districts to provide guidance to consumer for protection of their rights. The Principal Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies Department, S. Ahmed, said at a meeting of the State Consumer Welfare Committee here on Monday that these centres, to be set up at the District Suchna Kendras, would make available model formats for filing of complaints in the Consumer Disputes Redressal Forums. The services of experts will also be available at the centres to the consumers seeking legal advice. Besides, the representatives of private sector and traders' organisations will be appointed to the executive of the Consumer Welfare Committee. Mr. Ahmed said the Food and Civil Supplies Department would hold competitions for poster, slogans and models on consumer protection and give away prizes to winners on December 24. Among others, Additional Commissioner, Food Department, Sarita Singh; Deputy Commissioner, Rashmi Sharma; Registrar, Rajasthan State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissionattended the meeting.
