CHANDIGARH: The Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board has decided to set up farmer markets in Gurgaon and Panchkula for providing an opportunity to farmers to directly sell their produce to the consumers. An official spokesman said here on Tuesday that these markets would help the farmers in fetching optimum prices for their produce. He said the Board had set a record by connecting the grain market of Sirsa district through the online system. He claimed that this was the country's first grain market to be connected with the online system. The Board had got 517 km of rural roads constructed at a cost of Rs.53 crore during the tenure of the Hooda Government.
