BELGAUM: The city branch of the Indian Medical Association organised a walk to mark "World Diabetes Day" here on Tuesday. The walk was arranged to create awareness about the disease, its management and preventive aspects such as regular exercise and proper food habits. Doctors, medical students, schoolchildren, senior citizens and representatives of social organisations joined the walk from Bogarves to Rani Chennamma Circle.
Free check-up
Later in the day, free blood sugar check-up was done at IMA House. Also, KLES Hospital arranged a free eye check-up for poor patients at its diabetes centre on Tuesday. The facility will be available on Wednesday too.
