NEW DELHI: Union Human Resource and Development Minister Arjun Singh on Tuesday inaugurated the Golden Jubilee International Children's Assembly and Integration Camp at National Bal Bhawan here. The theme of the seven-day function, held to commemorate Children's Day, is "Values in Nation Building". Following the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, Mr. Singh said it was in children that the visions of "Chacha" Nehru got reflected. The Minister added that it was the dream of Jawaharlal Nehru that helped India reach its current position. "Children are the greatest propagators of the vision of Chacha Nehru and his values influenced them positively." Children from various State Bal Bhawans and Bal Bhawan Kendras and also from foreign countries like Russia, Mongolia, Sri Lanka and Iran are participating in the Golden Jubilee Camp. Beginning with the theme of "Love for the country and countrymen", the camp will have children participating in various activities centred round one or the other related values in nation building on the remaining six days. On the opening day, an activity fair had children participating in various creative activities like painting, wood work, mask-making, story-telling, paper-making, electronic games, aero modelling, preparing models of satellites and magic shows.
