KARIMNAGAR: Minister for Agriculture N. Raghuveera Reddy has alleged that the TDP is shedding crocodile tears for the welfare of Backward Classes by stating that they had allocated party ticket to BC candidate L. Ramana in the by-elections to the Karimnagar Parliament constituency. Participating in the district Kuruma and Yadava sangham convention on Tuesday, the Minister said the TDP Government had failed to constitute a federation for the welfare and uplift of BCs. He said the Congress Government had accorded top priority to the welfare of BCs by constituting a federation for them and also announced an insurance policy for sheeps by paying a premium of Rs. 40 crores. As much as Rs. 30 lakh each had been assigned for the construction of Kuruma and Yadava sangham bhavans in Karimnagar district. Earlier, at a press conference, the Minister said the Government would protect the interests of sugarcane growers, who had launched indefinite relay hunger strike in Karimnagar town
