Pooling in money for a good cause

Actor Surya's was amidst the chorus of voices from children that rocked the indoor stadium in NSN Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chitlapakkam, on Tuesday.
Amidst cheers, the actor on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Kidney Research (TANKER) Foundation received a cheque for Rs.3.19 lakh from the school principal, Chithra Prasad.
Surya is a key ambassador for TANKER, which is involved in providing healthcare and medical treatment to people living with kidney diseases.
The amount was contributed by the school students, who had collected the money in 20 days.
Surya was thrilled to be at the school on Children's Day. He appreciated the efforts of the students and their parents in supporting the cause. His parting message to the youngsters: acquire good friends and respect women to reach greater heights in life.
