Second phase of talent search test

CHENNAI : The first phase of the citywide talent search test (CTST), organised jointly by The Hindu Education Plus and AIMS Education, is over and the second phase, Propel — Workshop, will be held on Wednesday and Thursday.

In this year's talent search, 47,890 students from Standards VIII to XII from 189 city schools participated (against 22,000 students from 103 schools last time).

The top 10 rankers in the CTST from each of the participating schools will participate in the workshop on Wednesday for students of Standards VIII to X and on Thursday for those from Standards XI and XII.

An exclusive workshop for parents will also be held on Thursday evening. Further information can be had from AIMS office. (Phone 2433 7997, 2435 9822). The venue is Kamaraj Memorial Hall at Teynampet.

The Wednesday's meet would be inaugurated by Thangam Thennarasu, Minister for School Education. It will have sessions conducted by experts, on developing winning strategies, intelligence and pattern recognition, investigative design, case studies in applied mathematics and science and on recording and interpreting results, mathematical modelling, testing methodology and follow up for teachers, soft skill training to tackle examination phobia, stress and time management, communication and parental responsibilities.

The top three rankers of the talent search will be awarded cash prizes. There will also be short assessment tests during the workshops, in the afternoons, the top three rankers of which too will be awarded cash prizes. The prize amounts are Rs.5000, Rs.2000 and Rs.1000. Rasna Juc Fit, Lotte, Only Success, Velammal Group and MDIS, are among the sponsors for the event.
