DINDIGUL: The Principal Sessions Court here on Tuesday dismissed an appeal petition filed by Thamizhaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam founder John Pandian in a case relating to the assault of police and confirmed the decree of the judicial magistrate court sentencing him to 27-month imprisonment.

The prosecution said the Dindigul town north police had registered a case against John Pandian on charges of assaulting the escort police when they produced him before the court here for hearing of a case relating to the damage caused to public property some months ago. John Pandian went for an appeal in the Principal Sessions Court.
