For two LS seats in Andhra Pradesh and 11 Assembly seats spread over 10 States

NEW DELHI:
The central election committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party is scheduled to meet here on Wednesday morning to finalise the party's candidates for the by-elections to two Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh and 11 Assembly seats spread over 10 States for which nominations have to be filed by November 17.
For the Karimnagar seat that fell vacant as a result of resignation by the Telengana Rashtra Samithi chief Chandra Sekhara Rao, it seems almost certain that the BJP will finalise the candidature of a party veteran from Andhra Pradesh, Vidyasagar Rao.
The BJP, which has announced that it would include the demand for a separate State of Telengana as an issue in its manifesto, is expected to make this the main talking point in its campaign.
For the second vacant Lok Sabha seat of Bobbili, the panel will decide whether to contest the seat or not.
The Chamundeshwari Assembly seat, Karnataka, fell vacant after Siddaramaiah quit the party and joined the Congress. The BJP had laid claim to it but has now conceded it to JD (S).
